20 April

Easter Sunday pretty much blessed us with a mix of sun and clouds, no winds and 20°C (5:57 PM) in the afternoon. Many families were taking walks, one even right through my usual route in Zone I with their dog, so I had to search for calmer spots (and now hurry up with writing due to an oncoming thunderstorm).

I had to be quick to photograph this C. argiolus as a couple with two dogs were approaching but nevertheless I was surprised to discover it in a zone with a declining plant diversity. The rain we finally received a few days ago, with some more coming down right now (7:14 PM), is making a drought similar to that of 2018 a little less likely now and appears to boost the appearance of certain butterflies.

Odrich Jr. also was around and was quite happy to see me, in fact he greeted me from far away and, once again, allowed me to do my monitoring on his property, claiming that my mother and I are "good people". A lovely man, indeed.
