25 August

Just a few thin clouds, weak to moderate winds and 20°C (6:58 PM) should've made it possible to spot some resting butterflies.

Two P. rapae and a single A. cyanea in Zone II.

Almost no nectar plants are left at this point and it even affects other insects I'm not keeping an eye on negatively. Only four bumblebees were observed since the start of this observation season, ladybugs also have been almost entirely absent. Only two daddy long legs have been showing up in my yard alone, whereas most moths were not seen at all, either.

Strangely, I also don't encounter many worms in fruits I take from both Zone I and II, despite fruit trees carrying more fruits than ever. Even rotten fruit barely attracts the most common flies and ants.

As quite a bunch of trees already are getting rid of their leaves, it appears that this year's season will end much sooner than expected, likely somewhere around early to mid-September. The sheer absence of nectar plants makes it highly unlikely that I may get to encounter a few partial generations that usually end a respective season by the end of August up until the first days of September.
