April 2025

Single logs from this month:

03 April
04 April
14 April
20 April
27 April

Starting off dry, April finally saw plenty of rain towards the holidays. Summer-like temperatures above 20°C marked the end of the month.

One thing to note is that A. urticae, which wasn't seen outside of "Yard" last year, currently may be occupying a building close to my village's church. Since this is not a dedicated zone and I failed to confirm any such observations, I decided to exclude them from this list.

This year marks the first time in which P. c-album has appeared in mid-spring. P. malvae also has made its earliest appearance to this date, now preferring Zone I.

Sadly, N. polychloros has not made any appearances, so far. This species is known for its volatility in terms of population size/appearances, so it may not be something to worry about.

As my new job is set to start soon, my regular field trips may see some slight changes for the remaining season. To make up for a potential reduction in future field trips, I'll visit my local FFH territory on 1 May.
